Academic Programs

Since 1945, design has remained the foundation of our studies at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design. We strive to produce designers who are skilled in their craft, capable of using advanced technology and methods of industrialized production, understand and respect the power of design to shape communities, and equipped to use design skills to be influential in the world.

Set in the fourth largest city of the United States, our strategic location gives students the opportunity to take advantage of the numerous cultural, professional, and industrial resources this city has to offer. With its unique form and vitality, Houston is an exceptional laboratory for exploring problems and potentials of contemporary society.
