Official Coog Day 

Congratulations, Official Coog! This event offers admitted students a chance to celebrate amongst their peers, all while exploring their future home! This is an excellent opportunity for you and your supporters to tour campus and meet with resources and services that will help make your transition to UH easier. Our team will be on hand to discuss your next steps as an #OfficialCoog, including preparing you to attend New Student Orientation this summer, where you'll enroll in classes.

Getting to Campus and Parking

Event parking is available in the University Gateway Garage.

Be advised there are many other parking garages on campus, and your parking fee will not be validated if you park in a garage that is not the University Gateway Garage.

UH ambassadors will be guiding you from the parking garage to Student Center South.

Undergraduate Student Success Center (USSC) | Student Center South Space City Room

USSC is a coordinated network of resources focused explicitly on the goal of undergraduate student success. Come to this browsing fair and learn more about some of their services such as Transfer Advising Program (TAP), UH Writing Center, Learning Advancements for UNdergraduate Cougars of Houston (LAUNCH), Health Professions, Challenger, USSC, Texas Success Initiative (TSI), and Navigate.

  • Do you have transfer credit and want to know how they transfer to the University of Houston? Advisors in TAP smooth the transition to the University for prospective undergraduate transfer students.
  • The UH Writing Center provides services to students, faculty and staff in order to support effective writing practices across campus.
  • Learn more about the services of LAUNCH, which is located at the UH Tutoring and Learning Center. LAUNCH services include tutoring in 60 courses, success workshops and academic coaching.
  • TSI ensures that students are college-ready in math and English language arts and reading.
  • The Health Professions Advising Center connects UH students with the resources they need to successfully explore, prepare for and enter a career in the health professions.
  • The Challenger Program supports first-generation college students through specialized programming, supplementary advising and campus-wide resource connections.

  • Student Housing & Residential Life (SHRL) | Student Center South Theater
    • Living on campus is one of the best decisions you can make as a student at the UH. SHRL has an intentional approach to engaging residents in all aspects of the UH community. Attend this session to learn more about the benefits afforded to students who indicate SHRL as their number one housing option every year.
  • Center for Student Empowerment (CSE) | Student Center South Multipurpose Room
    • CSE offers holistic services to support students' needs in various areas such as academic, financial, civic leadership and personal development. This presentation aims to help students identify support services available to them when enrolling at UH and how CSE can assist in meeting their needs.
  • Honors College | Student Center South Ballroom East
    • Come learn about our prestigious Honors College program, connect with current students and have your questions answered.
  • University Career Services (UCS) | Student Center South Ballroom West
    • UCS is a full-service career center offering students and UH alumni resources and assistance in the formulation and implementation of their career plans. Services and resources include assistance with vocational and major assessments, professional documents, job search and interviewing techniques, networking and personal branding. UCS constituents include students, faculty, staff, alumni and employers.

    • The mission of New Student Orientation at UH is to facilitate the successful transition of new students, transfers and supporters by fostering opportunities for academic, social and cultural engagement through intentional, inclusive programming. Join this session to learn more about how to register for orientation and what you can expect from attending orientation this summer.
  • Campus Safety | Student Center South Multipurpose Room
    • This session will be hosted by the University of Houston Police Department (UHPD). UHPD is the primary police authority for the University. Learn more about campus safety, emergency preparedness and the services they offer.
