Official Coog Day

Congratulations, Official Coog! This event offers admitted students a chance to celebrate amongst their peers, all while exploring their future home! This is an excellent opportunity for you and your supporters to tour campus and meet with resources and services that will help make your transition to UH easier. Our team will be on hand to discuss your next steps as an #OfficialCoog, including preparing you to attend New Student Orientation this summer, where you'll enroll in classes.

Parking Garage

Getting to Campus and Parking

Event parking is available in the University Gateway Garage.

Be advised there are many other parking garages on campus, and your parking fee will not be validated if you park in a garage that is not the University Gateway Garage.

UH ambassadors will be guiding you from the parking garage to Student Center South.

Student Center South
The last tour will depart the Student Center at 2:30 p.m.

Campus Tour
An ambassador will show you some highlights of our beautiful campus. Camous Tours will depart every 10 minutes.

Housing Tour
An ambassador will guide you to our showroom in Cougar Village II, a freshman housing facility. Tours will depart from the Student Center every 20 minutes.

These interactive fairs offer an opportunity for students to chat with professionals from their major. You can meet and learn about all the departments and wonderful student organizations at UH.

1 p.m. – 3 p.m. | Campus Resource Breakout Sessions

Student Center South 
During this time, there will be a two-hour span of sessions with various campus partners offering resources and knowledge that will help both students and supporters be successful at UH.

Financial Aid & Scholarships | Houston Room
The Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid will provide you with insight on how to maximize your financial aid opportunities.

Block 2 (1:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.)

Honors College | Space City
The Honors College is one of our high-achieving and premier colleges on campus. The Honors College welcomes all majors and disciplines and offers supportive programs and resources to ensure your success at UH. Come learn about our prestigious Honors College program, connect with current students and have your questions answered.

Student Panel | Multipurpose Room
A group of five students will share their current and past experiences about being a student leader on UH’s campus. They’ll dive into their academic journeys, student organizations they’re involved in and ways future coogs can be successful at UH.

Block 3 (2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

New Student Orientation | Houston Room
The mission of New Student Orientation at the University of Houston is to facilitate the successful transition of new students, transfers and supporters by fostering opportunities for academic, social and cultural engagement through intentional, inclusive programming. Join this session to learn more about how to register for orientation and what you can expect from attending orientation this summer.

Career Services | Space City
University Career Services is a full-service career center offering students and UH alumni resources and assistance in the formulation and implementation of their career plans. Services and resources include assistance with vocational and major assessments, professional documents, job search and interviewing techniques, networking, and personal branding. UCS constituents include students, faculty, staff, alumni and employers.

Student Housing & Residential Life | Multipurpose Room
Living on campus is one of the best decisions you can make as a student at the University of Houston. Student Housing & Residential Life (SHRL) has an intentional approach to engaging residents in all aspects of the UH community. Attend this session to learn more about the benefits afforded to students who indicate SHRL as their number one housing option every year.

Block 4 (2:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.)

Campus Safety | Space City
This session will be hosted by the University of Houston Police Department. UHPD is the primary police authority for the University of Houston. Learn more about campus safety, emergency preparedness and the services they offer.

Center for Student Empowerment | Multi-Purpose Room
The Center for Student Empowerment offers holistic services to support students' needs in various areas such as academic, financial, civic leadership and personal development. This presentation aims to help students identify support services available to them when enrolling at the University of Houston and how the Center for Student Empowerment can assist in meeting their needs.
