PERSONAL STATEMENT
Dr. Omari L. Dyson is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work integrates health promotion, education, behavioral science, technology, and community engagement to improve the health and well-being of children, adults, and families. His scholarship is particularly focused on developing culturally and contextually responsive approaches to preventing obesity and reducing health disparities through rhythmic movement, mindfulness, critical health education, family engagement, and innovative technologies. Drawing from more than two decades of research, teaching, mentorship, and community-based work, Dr. Dyson seeks to develop accessible, sustainable, and scalable interventions that strengthen individual, family, and community wellness.
