PERSONAL STATEMENT

Dr. Haiman's scholarship focuses on addressing the macro-level factors impacting maternal health equity, with a specific focus on perinatal substance use and mental health challenges. Using community-based and implementation science methods, she explores how policies, systems, and other structural drivers impact pregnant and parenting people's behavioral and physical health. Her work has been primarily focused in the Southeast, which has been acutely impacted by the U.S. maternal health crisis.
