Branches

Student Government Association at the University of Houston operates through three distinct branches: the Executive Branch, which handles daily operations and is led by the President and Vice President; the Legislative Branch, consisting of college-represented student senators who draft bills and resolutions; and the Judicial Branch (Court of Appeals and Department of Justice), which interprets the bylaws and ensures fair campus elections.

Executive Branch

Led by the Student Body President and Vice President, The Executive Branch administers daily SGA operations, enforces legislation, and represents the student body to university administration.

Legislative Branch

Led by the Speaker of the Senate and composed of elected Senators, the Legislative Branch drafts, debates, and votes on resolutions and bills to allocate student fee funds and shape university policy.
