Dear Search Committee,

I write with the good news that your hard work has resulted in a sole finalist for UH’s Graduate College of Social Work (GCSW)  Dean. Yarneccia D. Dyson has enthusiastically accepted our offer to become part of the University of Houston family and lead the college starting June 1.

I know from experience that these searches require time and effort. The University is grateful for all the energy you put into this endeavor. From identifying excellent candidates like Dr. Dyson to scheduling interviews and visits, you certainly raised the bar for other search committees.

A special thanks goes out to co-chairs Cathy Horn and Juan Barthelemy for steering this committee. Likewise, I must also recognize the work of Cindy Mejia, Executive Director of Student Success strategies, for contributing her expertise to this search.

Dr. Dyson arrives at UH on June 1, and we’re pleased to welcome her to campus!
