Dear Colleagues,
I hope the start of the semester is going well! You’re noticing that this note is
appearing in the first edition of Academic Update. This online publication will cover
faculty achievements, student success and other topics relevant to the University’s
academic enterprise.
Content will also include perspectives from our deans, as well as updates on workshops,
professional development opportunities and other initiatives that support your success.
In short, Academic Update is for you … and about you. With that in mind, don’t hesitate
to send us a note with ideas on what you’d like to see in this newsletter. Also, take a moment to RSVP to the upcoming Fall Faculty Celebration on Oct. 15. This will be the second time we've hosted this event and it promises to be just
as fun as last year's celebration. We will celebrate your accomplishments and recognize
those faculty who have contributed 20-plus years of service to the University.
In the meantime, enjoy this first edition of Academic Update and have a productive
fall semester!
Respectfully,
Diane Z. Chase
Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
