Class of 2017 Graduating Students Earn Awards for Excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Skills

UH College of Pharmacy and select student organizations presented awards to several graduating students at the Class of 2017 Graduation Awards Reception May 10 at the UH Hilton.

The Graduation Awards Reception is an annual tradition of the college to recognize students for exceptional scholarship, leadership, service and exhibition of pharmacy practice skills such as patient counseling and communication.

The 2017 award recipients are: 

APhA-ASP Service Recognition Award – Erin Moody

ASHP Health System Pharmacy Award – Kaitlin Wasko

Award of Excellence in Clinical Communication Sponsored by Facts & Comparisons and Lexicomp – Amber Wright

Dean Joseph P. Buckley Pharmacy Leadership Award – Jared Moore, Caroline Root, Steven Seagroves, Tiffany SiebenLydia SolisMary Sun, Chelsea Wong and Sherien Zaid

Lilly Achievement Award – Krutina Patel Garcia

Mylan Pharmaceutical Excellence in Pharmacy Award – Amanda Nguyen

Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database Recognition Award – Stacy Poindexter

Outstanding Achievement in Pharmaceutical Sciences Award During P2 Year – Mary Sun and Chelsea Wong

Phi Lambda Sigma Student Leadership Award – Marissa Blumenthal

UHCOP RX Cougar Leadership Award – Holly Ryan and Robert Miller

UHCOP Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Clinical Skills – Linda Mai and Anna Huynh

U.S. Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy Practice Award – Krutina Patel Garcia

PHOP Graduate Student Excellence Award (Doctoral Program) – Ruta Sawant

In addition, UHCOP Clinical Associate Professor Lynn Simpson, Pharm.D. ('97), received the Phi Lambda Sigma Faculty Leadership Award for the second consecutive year.
