6th Annual NCPA Meet and Greet 

PCCA's A.J. Day Keynote Speaker at Chapter's Feb. 24 Chapter Event for Students, Independent Pharmacists

UH College of Pharmacy alumnus and PCCA Director of Pharmacy Consulting A.J. Day, Pharm.D. ('07), will be the keynote speaker at the 6th Annual NCPA Meet and Greet 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Rockwell Pavilion of the MD Anderson Library at UH. 

Hosted by the UHCOP Chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association, the annual Meet and Greet offers the opportunity for UH pharmacy students to interact with and learn from independent pharmacists and pharmacy owners. To RSVP, email the chapter at ncpauhcop@gmail.com.

Day's special areas of interest include veterinary compounding, legal compliance, aseptic compounding, pain management, and compounding technique. Over the course of his career, Day has had the privilege of providing CE and non-CE presentations to thousands of veterinarians, physicians, and pharmacists around the world. He has provided expert testimony to FDA on behalf of the compounding profession on multiple occasions. 

Day is active with the NCPA, the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, the American Pharmacists Association,the  Texas Pharmacy Association and Texas Pharmacy Foundation, including as a member of the Board of Trustees. He is also a Lieutenant in the Texas State Guard Medical Brigade.

As a preceptor for colleges of pharmacy across the country, Day coordinates and supervises Pharm.D. students in their final year of studies. His varied experience includes working in chain pharmacies, disaster relief operations, sterile compounding, nuclear pharmacy, and veterinary compounding. He studied chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin, and obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.
