UHCOP Delta Delta Wins Kappa Psi Regional Top Chapter Award for 5th Consecutive Year, 2 Officers Elected to Leadership Positions

December 21 — The UH College of Pharmacy Delta Delta Chapter of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity has secured its fifth consecutive Chapter of the Year Award in the national organization's Southwest Province.

At the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester, Hurricane Dorian left many people homeless and without electricity or running water. The brothers of the Delta Delta chapter took immediately action to help those in need, raising $500 toward the Hurricane Dorian Relief fund.

Between summer of 2019 to spring 2020, Delta Delta’s professional relations officers coordinated eight wellness fairs that promoted both health and education to the local community, with half of those health fairs happening within a single day.

In support of the national organization's philanthropic partner — Reach Out and Read — Delta Delta members collected 80 books, created dozens of bookmarks, and volunteered their time to read to children at local pediatric clinics.

With the help of the chapter's 27 new members, the graduate relations officers organized Casino Night, an alumni appreciation event celebrating both old and new generations of Kappa Psi.

In addition, Chapter Regent Julie Lu and Webmaster Rustin Pevehouse were elected to the Kappa Psi Southwest Province Executive Board as Historian and Webmaster, respectively.
