Moving Waters was founded in September 2019 and is the first nonprofit of its kind in the greater Houston area. Moving Waters is committed to improving the quality of life of unhoused individuals in the Galveston and Houston area by providing dignity-restoring showers via a mobile shower service.
Take time to connect with each and every guest; your authentic and compassionate attention represents the unexpected level of care that helps restore their dignity.
Wear something you do not mind getting mildly wet, including closed-toe shoes.
If using the carpool, volunteers will meet in front of the Student Center South at 8:40 am and depart at 8:50 am and arrive at the event site at 9:20 am, and volunteer until 12 pm. Please indicate on this sign-up form if you can provide carpool - we always need volunteer drivers! All volunteer drivers will receive one extra volunteer hour for their generosity. After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 12:30 pm.
