National Night Out at the Health Museum

The Health Museum is hosting the 40th Annual Houston National Night Out this upcoming October 3! Join MVP in helping run the program by acting as greeters, delivering supplies between tables and supporting guest services in the gift shop from 5:30 - 8:30!

Nora’s Home: Family Night

Nora’s Home offers solid organ transplant patients and their families an affordable place to stay in the Texas Medical Center (TMC) where they can find support and share experiences with others, in the comfort of a home-like environment. Join MVP on October 4 to sponsor a BINGO night for the guests as well as play other board games!

Impact Hours Birthday Bags

Come out to Impact Hours with MVP and help us finish decorating birthday bags! The bags will be distributed to homebound seniors who participate in the Meals On Wheels Program.

Cougar Cupboard

The University of Houston opened Cougar Cupboard in partnership with the Houston Food Bank’s Food for Change market network. The cupboard is available to all enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who may need access to additional food.

TCH Care Packages

Volunteers for this event will make gift packages for long-term pediatric patients complete with books, toys, and handwritten + decorated cards. All supplies will be provided and volunteers can come any time from 6:00 - 7:00 on Tuesday, 10/10 at the Heights room (SC South, second floor)

Houston Congenital Heart Walk

The Congenital Heart Walk series supports the mission of The Children’s Heart Foundation: to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects (CHDs) by funding the most promising research.

This event will have fun activities, entertainment, research updates, and our family-friendly walk. Join us as we raise funds to save and improve the lives of those living with CHDs!

Kids Meals

Kids Meals delivers free and healthy meals to homes of children who may not have access to affordable and nutritious food. Their mission is to end childhood hunger and their mission starts in the Greater Houston area. They have given more than 12.5 million free meals to food insecure children so far! As volunteers, we will either help with assembling the sandwiches and food, packing the bags, sorting donations, or doing other miscellaneous work like unloading a delivery or decorating bags.
