How to determine your URL on the UH Central Web Server

Account holders on the UH Central Web Server will have URLs based on the type of account they hold.

Individual Accounts

Individual account holders will have a URL formed from their first initial and last name. When two individuals have the same first initial and last name, middle initials will be used. For example, Jane A. Doe's URL would be:

http://www.uh.edu/~JDoe

If there was also a John B. Doe on campus, then both users would have to use their middle initial, and Jane's URL would become:

http://www.uh.edu/~JADoe

Departmental/Organizational Accounts

Before you will be able to view any of your departmental / organizational web pages, you need to set up your URL by calling Web Technologies at 713-743-1500. Collegial, departmental and organizational account owners can choose their URL as long as the desired URL is not currently in use. Your URL will be:

http://www.uh.edu/your-choice/
