How to Enroll: Retirement@Work Online Portal

Employees will continue to be automatically enrolled into the Teacher Retirement System of Texas

(TRS) Plan through the University of Houston System unless they opt out per the rules of the Plan.

The Retirement@Work online portal was designed to provide you with greater access to your

University of Houston System Retirement Savings Plan. TIAA, while remaining as an investment

provider, will also serve in an enhanced role as the primary point of contact for and host of the

online portal. To access the online portal and to view step-by-step instructions for using the

portal, refer to the user guide on page xx in this guide. You will use the online portal to:

  • Enroll in the TDA Plan
  • Select a provider in the ORP/TDA Plan
  • View all University of Houston System Retirement Savings Plan balances, regardless of investment provider—Fidelity, TIAA, Corebridge Financial or Voya. Note that if you have balances with a prior employer or with a grandfathered University of Houston System investment provider, these will not display.
  • Elect to start or change voluntary contributions in the TDA Plan
  • Select investment providers
  • Select new investment funds, including the new Brokerage options, via links to each provider’s website
  • Manage your account on an ongoing basis, and gain access to investment tools and calculators
