Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a degree program in the College of Education.
- Must be available for both steps of the participation below.
Participation will take 90 - 165 minutes, divided as follows:
- An initial 30-minute individual virtual interview
- A 60-minute math session and focus group interview on UH's campus on one of the following days:
- Wednesday 29th November: 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm OR
- Thursday 30th November: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
To participate in this research, you must be available on one of these specified days.
A possible 45-60-minute online individual second interview.
If you consent to participate in this study, you will receive compensation in the form of a $30 gift card for participating in the initial interview, the math session, and the focus group.
You will also receive another $20 gift card if you participate in the follow-up interview.

Antidepressant & Depression Neuroimaging Study

Participants will complete a pre-screening form to determine eligibility.
If eligible, participants will complete a task during a 1-hour MRI scan where they will be shown a variety of images and asked questions about each image. Participants will also complete a series of questionnaires.
Location: Core for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CAMRI) at Baylor College of Medicine (Smith Research Wing)
Duration: the session will take approximately 90-120 minutes.
Compensation: $50 Amazon Gift Card or $50 cash
Eligibility clarification: Participants can either be taking antidepressants and have a clinical depression diagnosis OR solely have a clinical depression diagnosis/depressive symptoms. You do not need to be taking antidepressants to be eligible.

RESTORE Lab

The purpose of this study is to test a group-format in-person intervention about weight and healthy behaviors. Individuals may be eligible to participate if they 1) identify as Latinx, 2) are between 18-25 years of age, 3) can read, write, and communicate in Spanish, 4) are concerned about your weight, and 5) feel that there is room for improvement in your personal habits. Participants will be expected to complete a phone pre-screener, an additional assessment, an in-person group intervention across six weeks coupled with 6 assessments, and two follow-up assessments. Participants may be compensated up to $90 for completing the full study.
