SPECIAL EVENTS

GET UP AND GET MOVING 5K
GUGM 5K (Get Up and Get Moving 5K) was an annual fun run/walk organized by BOUNCE to promote physical activity within the Houston community. The event also served as a fundraiser to support low-income families participating in BOUNCE programs, helping ensure access to health and wellness resources for those who need it most.

MASTER GROWERS CLUB
The Masters Growers Club was a service-learning initiative where trained college instructors taught children basic garden maintenance, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits. Through hands-on experience with small-scale agriculture, students learned how to cultivate fruit and vegetable gardens, use produce to prepare healthy snacks, and sustain their gardens over time. The program also incorporated science-based lessons on soil nutrients, rainwater systems, food waste reduction, and portion control. By exploring the relationship between living and non-living systems, children gained a deeper understanding of sustainability and health.
