Mexican Studies
Our Graduate Program has a strong focus on Mexican Studies which capitalizes on our proximity, both cultural and geographical to Mexico. The focus on Mexican Studies is developed by the following faculty:
- Anadeli Bencomo. Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh. Associate Professor.
20th and 21st century Latin American Literature. Critical Theory. Mexican Chronicles. - Guillermo de los Reyes. Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania. Associate Professor.
Colonial Literature. Gender Studies. Cultural Studies. Secret Societies. Public Policy. - José Ramón Ruisánchez. Ph.D., University of Maryland. Assistant Professor.
19th century literature. Critical Theory. Contemporary Latin American Poetry. 20th century Mexican Literature.
Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies
Ask Guillermo de los Reyes, and the professors who work with these issues to write an intro to their approach to research and teaching in relation to Gender Studies.
Film and Media
Ask professors who do research and teach film and media to write something about it.
Cultural Studies
Our areas of expertise are various and heterogeneous, and some of our faculty members do not identify themselves exclusively with a subject and/or geo-cultural area of expertise. Subjects such as exile, visual arts, creative writing, to name a few, do not belong to a specific unit within our department, and constitute fertile ground for interdisciplinary approaches and trans-regional perspectives.
Ask professors who work with these issues to write an intro to their approach to research and teaching in relation to Cultural Studies.
