We are proud to announce the publication of Spanish Heritage Learners Emerging Literacy. Empirical Research and Classroom Practice (Routledge, 2019) a new book written by two graduates from our department.  The authors, Dr. Flavia Belpoliti and Dr. Encarna Bermejo, completed their PhDs at the Department of Hispanic Studies, UH in 2011 and 2009, respectively. Dr. Belpoliti is now Associate Professor of Spanish Linguistics and Director of the Spanish Graduate Studies Program. Texas A&M, Commerce and Dr.Bermejo is Associate Professor of Spanish Linguistics at Houston Baptist University.
