Application Instructions 

Eligibility

• Must be enrolled in a CLASS major
• Must be available to work throughout the whole internship period
• Must be employment eligible
• Must meet any additional qualifications if listed for specific internships

Ideal candidates possess

• Outstanding academic achievement
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated interest in area covered by specific internship (e.g., history, or community service, or public policy, etc.)

How to apply

Applicants will be asked to designate a first-choice internship.  Different work experiences are associated with each.  Please review the agency descriptions before starting your application.

Applicants should complete the form at the link below and upload the following materials:

• Cover letter (1 page maximum). This should explain how your first-choice internship fits with your future plans for work and study and what skills and talents you would bring to the position. It should also explain your interests in the kind of public service or community service that
• Resumé (1 page maximum). This should highlight your academic achievements, relevant professional experience and relevant volunteer or community work.  Note potentially relevant skills such as database creation, photography, management of social media campaigns, etc.

Selection Process

Initial selections will be made by a UH committee. The selection process may involve an interview.  The agencies sponsoring the internships will make the final selection decision. Please be advised that successful candidates’ application materials will be shared with the relevant sponsoring agency.
