Katie Merrifield received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master’s in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. She has worked in the public school system, private practice, pediatric outpatient rehabilitation, and in early childhood intervention. At UH, Ms. Merrifield serves as a Clinical Educator and currently supervises graduate students at the Magnolia Multi-Service Center. Her clinical interests include working with young children with autism and their families as well as treating dysphagia within the pediatric population. Ms. Merrifield holds certifications or trainings in the Hanen More Than Words program, PROMPT, Social Thinking, and the Beckman Oral-Motor protocol.
