Gail J Buttorff

Gail J Buttorff is a research associate professor in the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs and the associate director of the Center for Public Policy. Her research has focused on elections and gender and public policy in the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Her work has been published in academic journals such as Electoral Studies, the Journal of Theoretical Politics, and the Journal of Arabian Studies. She is the author of Authoritarian Elections and Opposition Groups in the Arab World. She holds a PhD and MA in political science from the University of Iowa and a BA from New York University.
