Notes:

The exam will be a combination of multiple choice and short answer problems. You will have 3 hours to complete it. The passing grade for the exam is 70%. Use of a formula sheet is not allowed, but you may use a scientific (non-graphing) calculator. Students are only allowed to take the exam if they have completed a college-level Physics course but did not receive credit for some unusual reason.

  • Students must be approved by the Department of Physics to register for this departmental credit exam.
  • Students must submit the Physics Department Permission Form to the Department of Physics for approval.
  • The request form must be approved by Dr. Lisa Koerner.
  • Students approved to register for this exam must be enrolled at the University of Houston to have credit awarded and must not be registered for the course for which credit is being attempted.
  • If a student is not present for the scheduled exam, the student may request to receive a 50% refund.
  • The refund request must be submitted in writing within 15 days of the registered test date along with the exam admission ticket to  UH Testing Services.
