CASA Testing Centers

The CASA Testing Centers have 120 testing stations in each of their locations, and currently offers testing for a multitude of courses at the University of Houston.
Students who are required to take an exam at the CASA Testing Center need to access Courseware to obtain an account in order to register their biometric prior to making their exam reservation.
To reserve a seat for CASA exam, students need to log into their CCS account at https://ccs.casa.uh.edu.

CASA Testing Checklist
Before your exam, make sure you complete the following steps:
- Register Your Biometric Information
- Complete your one-time biometric registration before your exam date.
- Bring your UH Cougar Card, state-issued ID, passport, or digital Cougar ID from the
UH Go app.
- Schedule Your Exam Reservation
- All CASA exams require advance reservations.
- Log into https://ccs.casa.uh.edu to schedule your exam.
- Bring a Valid Photo ID
- A valid photo ID is required at check-in.

- Arrive Early
- Check-in begins 20 minutes before your scheduled exam time.
- Students arriving more than 15 minutes late may not be admitted and may be required to reschedule their exam.
Important Reminders:
- No walk-ins or standby testing.
- Food, drinks, phones, bags, and other personal belongings are not allowed in the testing room.
- Only testing-related materials approved by your instructor are permitted.
- Return all testing materials, scratch paper, etc. and aids to a proctor at the check-out desk at the end of your testing session.
- The CASA Testing Center is not responsible for any lost, misplaced, or damaged personal belongings.
- Students in the Testing and Tutoring Centers of CASA are prohibited from possessing
any items that can be used as weapons, including, but not limited to, handguns, firearms,
ammunition, fireworks, pellet guns, paintball guns, BB guns, knives, clubs or explosive
or noxious materials.

Instructor Procedures for Arranging Exams at the CASA Testing Center
How to submit a request for your course to utilize the CASA Testing Center for your exams
- Instructors need to submit the Exam Schedule Request Form.
- Every effort will be made to accommodate your request and time. The accommodation is for space availability is on a first scheduled, first reserved basis.
- To accommodate campus wide testing, UH Faculty will not be able to reserve the entire testing lab for their whole class to test at once.
- Faculty can learn more about the CASA’s testing centers and schedule testing in CASA by contacting either Minh Nguyen or Samantha Stark.
Exam Criteria
- Open note, book or web exams cannot be accommodated at CASA.
- If your exam requires a specific type of calculator, then the instructor must send the requirements to the CASA at the start of the semester. Calculators will be allowed if approved by the instructor in advance .
- Exams will be administered online. If a handout, formula chart or other form of free response needs to be given to students during exam, then the instructor will need to provide this information at the time the reservation is made.
- Students will be given scratch papers at check-in. Scratch sheets will be collected upon checking out to ensure test security. Students must provide their own writing utensil .
- As this testing format will serve students taking exams across campus at any given time, the lab will not be available for classroom announcements, discussions, or handling of individual assignments.
- Exams are restricted with Lockdown Browser (LDB), Firewall, and IP Address Restriction to ensure that exams are secured. LDB and IP Address Restriction will need to be added to Canvas exams by the instructor.
Additional Information
- Students must have reservations to take their exams at CASA. The scheduler for each exam will be available and open for students to make their reservation in CCS 2 weeks prior to the exam date, and Seating is guaranteed to be available to students until the exam starts at CASA.
- CASA provides trained proctors to monitor students taking exams. Proctors will report any signs of academic dishonesty according to the UH Academic Dishonesty Policy.
