Call for Concept Papers: Team Science

DOR is soliciting short concept papers from faculty interested in leading or co-leading a larger funding opportunity that requires a team of investigators.

On April 26, DOR offered a workshop on Team Science and Convergent Research. As a follow-up to the workshop, DOR is soliciting short concept papers from faculty interested in leading or co-leading a larger funding opportunity that requires a team of investigators. You do not need to have your team members selected at this time.

DOR, together with the Associate Deans for Research, will select six individuals/groups to engage with McAllister & Quinn for individual consultations. Follow-up funding for team building is available through the National Center Planning Award mechanism, whose scope will be expanded to include large, team-based funding opportunities that may lead to a national center proposal in the future.

The concept papers should have the following components:

  • List the names with title, department/college, and email addresses of all investigators
  • Describe the context of the proposed project or concept
  • Explain the key goal(s) and Specific Aims of the proposed project
  • Include a brief summary of relevant work performed by the PI/co-Investigators
  • List any funding opportunities you feel would be a good fit for this project or concept (if known)

The proposal should not exceed two pages and must be submitted no later than Friday, May 26 to Hannah Niven (hmmcqui2@Central.UH.EDU).
