Tuition & Fees

An education is the key that can open many doors throughout your career. The costs you incur now will be returned to you many times over time. Your cost to attend the University of Houston depends on a variety of factors, including state of residence, program of study, and number of semester hours you're taking.

Listed below are estimated resident and non-resident annual costs for full-time undergraduate study. These costs do not take into account any financial aid you may receive. 

Please note: The tuition costs below represent the maximum estimated cost subject to full approval by our Board of Regents. These amounts are subject to change and are merely to provide estimated costs. These costs may be changed as appropriated.

Additional fees, such as laboratory fees, course fees, parking, and so on, are not included on the schedule of charges.

Know your rights

State law requires that you be informed of the following:

  1. with few exceptions, you are entitled on request to be informed about the information the University collects about you by use of this form.
  2. under sections 552.021 and 552.023 of the Government Code, you are entitled to receive and review the information; and
  3. under section 559.004 of the Government Code, you are entitled to have the University correct information about you that is incorrect.

Rates are subject to change. The tuition and fee information provided is not intended to be comprehensive and is subject to change pending action taken by the Texas Legislature or the University Of Houston Board Of Regents. Changes become effective on the date of enactment. This information should be used only as a guide for estimating tuition and fee charges.

Waivers should be submitted by deadline. All students seeking waivers must submit any applications accompanied by supporting documentation no later than the Official Census Date of the semester/term in which they are currently enrolled. This is generally the 12th class day of a regular semester/term and the 4th class day of a shorter term/session. Waivers will not be granted for prior semesters/terms.
