YouTube is a website which allows users to upload, view, and share videos online. The videos on YouTube have been uploaded by individuals, companies, organizations, or media corporations. Users can watch video without registration, and the registered users can upload videos. The published videos are viewed publicly unless users set videos to private or unlisted.
The University of Houston has a YouTube account which provides faculty a space to upload non-commercial video clips, lectures, or students' presentations. Then faculty can share those videos with students. Faculty create a playlist which is easily accessed by their students. Each upload presents a URL which can then be embedded inside of a webpage, blog, or email, or inside of Blackboard for immediate viewing.
