Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program

Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program

The Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program is designed for individuals who have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree in an area other than Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.

The Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program is designed to prepare you for a graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.8 is required to be considered for admission into the Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In addition, no students may continue in the Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program if they receive a grade below a B- in a COMD course. Post Baccalaureate leveling students will not be allowed to repeat a course in COMD. Therefore, grades will be reviewed throughout the program.

Furthermore, applicants are not considered for admission to the graduate program if their GPA in the major is less than 3.0, or if their last 60 hours GPA is less than 3.0.

Application and Admission

Applications for the Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program will be accepted September 1st until January 15 for the following fall. Once all the applications are collected (postmarked between September 1 and January 7), the admissions committee will begin their review for admittance to the Post Baccalaureate Leveling Program for the subsequent academic year.

Post Baccalaureate leveling courses that provide a basic understanding of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing, as well as (basic) courses in natural sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, and math must be completed. We strongly recommend that the following background courses be completed prior to entering the leveling program:
