It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Asian American Studies Center at the University of Houston. The Center, established in the spring of 1995, offers educational and cultural resources to the entire Houston community and serves as the academic home of all students, faculty and staff of Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander descent. It is a place where we celebrate our cultural and linguistic diversity and enjoy academic freedom to explore new professional opportunities. The Center promotes academic excellence and equity for all through productive partnerships with local, national and international individuals and organizations. We invite all university students, faculty, staff and community members to engage in stimulating intellectual dialogue around a full range of issues impacting the experiences of Asians, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

In this year of the dragon, we wish you nothing but success, happiness and good health!
