Tier One Progress Report

February 9, 2011

My Fellow Cougars,

It was wonderful to see so many friendly faces on campus last Friday to help celebrate the University of Houston’s rise to the highest ranking of research universities in the nation!

We were gratified to share the intense pride of this accomplishment with state and local legislators, community leaders, alumni, faculty, staff and students — all who participated were inspired by this celebration of excellence. It is thrilling to say that the University of Houston is one of only three public universities in Texas, and one in Houston, to earn Carnegie's Tier One designation.

  • One more step forward in our journey to national prominence.
  • One more attraction for the world’s best and brightest minds.
  • One more honor for our students, faculty and alumni.
  • One more reason to support your university.

Yes, we do need your support. As this milestone demonstrates, continued success requires the participation of the entire community.  Won't you please consider a gift to a UH Tier One fund today?

The Carnegie designation proves that your lifelong investment in this university is worthwhile; we are continually working to improve the value of your degree. No matter the amount, every gift in support of Tier One has a positive impact.

If you were not able to join us last week, we invite you to watch this video of our Tier One celebration. Together, we will continue to transform UH into the Tier One university that Houston and the state need and deserve.

Warm Regards,

Renu Khator
