Let me begin by thanking you for taking the time to share your thoughts about the future of the University of Houston and indicating that you would like to receive regular communications from me. When I first reached out and asked for participation in this process, I had high hopes for a great response. And now, after thousands of students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members have participated, I am truly inspired by the passion shown for this university.

I have read suggestions ranging from strengthening our on-campus community and improving graduation rates to attracting nationally prominent faculty and promoting stronger local research partnerships. This is incredibly helpful to me as I prepare to meet with UH leadership and outline our vision for the future as well as our strategies, plans, and priorities.
