Over the past two weeks, I've had the pleasure of spending time with many of our incredible students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. I've visited classes and attended groundbreaking events on campus. I've met with community leaders in Houston and state legislators in Austin.

But instead of just writing you today, I'd like to share a brief, student-produced video message that provides a glimpse of how I've spent my first days on campus.

If you have not already done so, I encourage you to visit my web site to share your ideas that will help us strengthen the reputation of the University of Houston as a nationally premier research institution. We have received more than 2,000 responses so far, and I hope that number continues to grow!
