Year 3 (Summer 2024)
Summer Camp for Year 3 (May 13 – June 13)
39 students and one junior scholar attended the summer camp in-person. We started with a mini-workshop on the first day. The program consisted of two speakers from UH who gave seminars on Energy Transition:
- Joseph Powell - Executive Director, Energy Transition Institute, University of Houston
- Ramanan Krishnamoorti - Chief Energy Officer and Vice President, Energy and Innovation, University of Houston
Cohort 2 gave poster presentations on their research projects:
- Team 1: Predicting Magma Fertility for Porphyry Copper Exploration Using Machine Learning (Winner)
- Team 2: Large Language Model on Energy Policy (Runner-Up)
- Team 3: Pioneering the Drill: Machine Learning for Predicting Rate of Penetration in Drilling Operations (Runner-Up)
- Team 4: Residual Load Forecasting: Kaggle Challenge
- Team 5: Predicting The Remaining Useful Lifetime of a Battery
