Prof. Shah Awarded 2011 John C. Butler Teaching Excellence Award


Innovation in engaging students in the classroom and fostering critical thinking skills through interactive learning exemplify the talent and commitment of Dr. Shishir Shah, associate professor of computer science, toward education at University of Houston.

Shah’s contributions were recognized by the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) at the highest level with the 2011 John C. Butler Excellence in Teaching Award. The annual award recognizes NSM faculty who best engage and challenge their students. Shah is an expert in image analysis, computer vision and pattern recognition.
