STUDYING IN HOUSTON

The Houston community is a rich environment in which to study theatre. The downtown arts district hosts nine venues across 17 city blocks. The district, with nearly 13,000 seats for live performances, ranks second in the United States for the number of theater seats in a concentrated downtown area, and is one of only five cities with the distinction of maintaining permanent professional resident companies in all the major performing arts disciplines. Students of the University of Houston have innumerable opportunities to explore the myriad of theatre experiences offered by our dynamic city.
