Molly Wetzel

Assistant Professor, Voice & Speech

Molly Wetzel, originally from Olathe, Kansas, is a professional voice and dialect coach, actor, and audiobook narrator. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre with a Dance concentration from Otterbein University, and an MFA in Acting from the University of Houston. In addition to teaching at the University of Houston, she teaches over five hundred students in Japan through Atsueigo Online, where she serves as the American English pronunciation specialist and writes pronunciation curriculum. She also teaches clients from around the world through her private business, molly does dialects. She is trained in Knight-Thompson Speechwork.

As a dialect coach she has worked in many professional theatres in the Houston area including Stages Repertory Theatre, Theatre Under the Stars, and AD Players. As a performer, Molly has worked for regional theatres around the country, including the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Pacific Conservatory Theatre, and the Texas Shakespeare Festival. Favorite roles include Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Desdemona in Othello, and Ella in Cinderella (regional premiere of the 2013 Broadway version at Pacific Conservatory Theatre).
