Whatever your focus, the School of Art is an exciting place to further your artistic training in the nation's fourth largest city. The school boasts an extraordinary faculty of internationally recognized artists, designers, art historians and critics. We offer a variety of excellent programs leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Fine Arts, and Master of Arts degrees as well.

Undergraduate Admissions

The School of Art follows the standard UH admission requirements and procedures for freshman, transfer and post baccalaureate students. UH admission requirements are available at www.uh.edu/enroll/admis. Additionally, the School of Art requires the submission of a creative portfolio and a statement of intent for all students applying to the Bachelor of Arts in Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees, and the submission of a statement of intent for all students applying to the Bachelor of Arts in Art History degree.

Graduate Admissions

The priority deadline for domestic and international applicants is January 15th for fall admission. Applications received after that date will be considered if space is available. Find requirements for the MFA application here and the MA application here.
