Whatever your focus, we are an exciting place to further your artistic training in the nation's fourth largest city. The school boasts an extraordinary faculty of internationally recognized artist/teachers, scholars, arts educators, and art historians and theorists.  We offer a variety of strong programs leading to the Bachelor and Fine Arts degrees, Bachelor of Arts, as well as the Master of Fine Arts and a non-degree post baccalaureate Certificate in Arts Education.

Undergraduate Admissions

Students seeking to apply to our programs after the posted deadlines may contact admissionskgmca@uh.edu to request admissions consideration for the Fall 2021 term. 

The School of Art follows the standard UH admission requirements and procedures for freshman, transfer and post baccalaureate students. UH admission requirements are available at www.uh.edu/enroll/admis. Additionally, the School of Art requires the submission of a creative portfolio and a statement of intent for all students applying to the Bachelor of Arts in Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees, and the submission of a statement of intent for all students applying to the Bachelor of Arts in Art History degree.

Masters Degree Admissions

The priority deadline for domestic and international applicants is January 15th for fall admission. Applications received after that date will be considered if space is available.
