System Requirements
The current TSM client for most supported operating systems is TSM 6.2 (Some clients, because of their operating system levels, can only be upgraded to TSM 5.4 or 5.5). Unless otherwise stated, the communication protocol is TCP/IP.
- AIX
- RS/6000 or System i or System p, or compatible hardware as supported by AIX.
- AIX V5.3 TL 5 and higher.
- AIX V6.1.
- AIX V7.1, starting with 6.2.2 client plus requires minimum level of xlC.rte and xlsmp.rte filesets.
- The HSM clients support the following filesystems:
- JFS2.
- GPFS 3.2.1.8 or higher.
- GPFS 3.3.0.3 or higher (but not 3.3.0.11).
- GPFS 3.4.0.4 or higher.
- OS X
- Any PowerPC or Intel-based Macintosh.
- OS X 10.5.
- OS X 10.6.
- Mac OS X 10.4 users must use TSM 5.4.
- Redhat Linux
- An X86 based PC architecture (such as Pentium) or later, or AMD64/EM64T processor.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 with TSM 6.2.2 or higher.
- The following GPFS releases are supported:
- 3.2 and higher 3.2 levels.
- 3.3.0.3 and higher 3.3 levels (but not 3.3.0.11).
- 3.4.0.4 and higher 3.4 levels with TSM 6.2.2 and higher 6.2 TSM levels.
- Solaris
- An X86 based PC architecture (such as Pentium) or later, or AMD64/EM64T processor.
- Solaris 10
- Windows
- Windows Server 2003 (all editions, 32 bit and 64 bit).
- Windows Server 2003 R2 (all editions, 32 bit and 64 bit support for same features as in Windows Server 2003).
- Windows Vista all editions except Automated System Recovery (ASR).
- Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2008 Server Core, all editions (except Automated System Recovery (ASR) and Hyper-V).
- Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core, all editions (except Automated System Recovery (ASR)), all SPs supported, on Windows x64 processors only.
- Windows 7, all editions (except Automated System Recovery (ASR)), all SPs supported.
