Quad MPR Audio-Visual Guide

Welcome! This document is intended to help you better utilize classroom technology. Should you encounter any facility-related issues, your onsite coordinator can assist. Our Conference Services team works diligently to ensure that all aspects of your experience are exemplary!

An equipment box is available for checkout at The Quad front desk containing a wireless keyboard, black HDMI cord, blue landline cord, microphone, lapel microphone, extra batteries, electronics wipes, and cleaning wipes.

Ensure that you are using the designated keyboard for your assigned space. The keyboard placement pulls out of the bottom-left side of the podium. Make sure the black podium cord (bottom near wheels), HDMI cord, and landline cord are completely plugged into the floor box and their respective slots (HDMI = left side of podium / blue cord on front right of podium). On the right side of the podium, press the power button. The computer on the podium will start up and you can log in using your UH credentials.
On the back wall, closest to the courtyard, there is a black screen. Tap the screen to begin and select the appropriate room, screen, and floor box. The layout should mirror how you see the screens and floor boxes in the room. The projector screen should immediately lower. There are two in each room and how they appear on the black box is how you see them.
The lights can be controlled on the black screen nearest to the door adjacent to the lobby. The grey curtains are controlled by a white panel opposite the light screen. Click the arrows to raise or lower the curtains at your discretion.
Microphones are automatically connected to their designated room. Turn on the microphone and it should work. If you want to use more than one microphone of the same type, you may not use two of the same room microphones. You must use two different room microphones.
All classrooms are Wi-Fi enabled and equipped with a windows-based desktop computer. Please be good stewards of the space by turning the PROJECTOR off before leaving to preserve the bulb.

DO NOT turn off the computer before leaving the classroom, simply log out. Turning off the computer will oftentimes trigger lengthy updates to occur.
DO NOT unplug any cables associated with the computer system.

The projector won’t turn on: First, press the ‘On’ button located on the wall and wait for it stop flashing. Select the proper output (i.e. Desktop VGA or HDMI)

Ensure that the correct output is selected

Note: If a light does not appear to be coming from the projector, the bulb may be burned out. If this is the case, contact classroom support at the number listed below. If when information technology staff arrive it is determined that a lightbulb needs to be replaced, all occupants must exit the room to replace the bulb. This will take approximately 10 minutes.

The projector was accidentally turned off: Wait until blinking stops before attempting to turn it back on.

All steps and instructions listed above have been attempted and issues persist.

Please contact stayatuh@cougarnet.uh.edu or the Quad Front Desk for assistance.
