ADA ACCESSIBILITY ACOMODATIONS

The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to guests with disabilities. The Fertitta Center is designed with ADA accessible parking, restrooms, concessions, ATMs and seating areas. For more information, fans can call the Houston Athletics Ticket Office at 713.Go.Coogs (462-6647).

Entrances: All public entrances are ADA accessible.

Seating areas: The Fertitta Center has ADA accessible seating in Sections 103, 107, 110, 111, 112, 114, 115, 116, 117 and in the Sideline Club.

Handicap Parking - Stadium Garage (Faculty/Staff Entrance): Handicap parking for men’s basketball games is available on the first level (visitor entrance) of the Stadium parking garage.  Entry into the garage requires a valid ADA compliant handicap license plate or hangtag. The charge to park on this level is $20, unless you have a men’s basketball parking pass from Cougar Pride in any donor lot, in which case entry is free with both the parking pass and valid ADA hangtag. Enter off Holman Street You can access Holman Street from Scott Street or Cullen Blvd.

ADDRESS

The Fertitta Center is located on the campus of the University of Houston at 3422 Cullen Blvd., Houston, TX 77204.  It is specifically located on the corner Cullen Boulevard and Holman Street, next to the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility.

ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE

Fans can call 713.Go.Coogs (462-6647) or visit the Houston Athletics Ticket Office from 9 a.m., to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To purchase tickets in person, fans can visit the Houston Athletics Ticket Office located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside of Schroeder Gate 1 and Legends Plaza. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium Garage visitor entrance with the first 30 minutes free of charge.

ALCOHOL

The University of Houston and The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics work hard to promote responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. Outside alcohol is prohibited the Fertitta Center. Beer, wine and liquor are sold at most concession stands and portable stands throughout the concourse. All alcohol sales conclude at the 10-minute mark of the second half for men’s games and the start of the fourth quarter for women’s games for the general public areas of the arena. Alcohol will be served in the Legends Club, Sideline Club, and Suites until one hour after the game.

ANIMALS

Animals are not permitted inside the Fertitta Center with the exception of service animals trained to do work or perform task for guest with disabilities. Therapy, comfort, companion or emotional support animals are not permitted.

ATMs

ATMs are located inside the Fertitta Center on the concourse level behind sections 104 and 111.

AUTOGRAPHS

To obtain autographed items, please refer to the University of Houston autograph policy.

Fans can call UHPD at 713-743-0600.

BABY CHANGING AREAS

Baby changing stations are located in every restroom in the arena. Restrooms are located behind sections 101, 105, 107, 109, 111, 117, and 119.

BAG SEARCH

All bags are subject to search upon entry and are subject to additional searches within the Fertitta Center. This policy is in effect for all guests of Houston Athletics.

BANNERS AND SIGNS

Banners and signs must be event-related, in good taste and cannot obstruct the view of other spectators. They may not contain derogatory or un-sportsmanlike comments directed to the opposing team's players or fans, game officials, or stadium personnel. They may not contain commercial messages, logos or political endorsements. All signs held by spectators must be no larger than 3 feet tall by 3 feet wide.

Any sign, flag, banner or poster may be removed, at any time, at the sole discretion of the Fertitta Center management.

BOTTLES/CANS/OUTSIDE BEVERAGES

No outside food or drink, including bottled water, and/or cans and glass bottles are allowed.

CAMERAS

Cameras (still only) are permitted inside the Fertitta Center as long as their use does not interfere with the game or other guests' enjoyment of the event. Pictures of the game are for personal use only and may not be sold. Tri-pods, mono-pods, multiple lenses and lenses longer than 8 inches are prohibited from use on the concourse or in the stands. Video cameras and video recording of events are prohibited.

CHILDREN

Children age two (2) years and under will be admitted free of charge but must sit in the lap of a parent or guardian and may not occupy a seat or obstruct the sight lines of other guests.

CLEAR BAG POLICY

In an effort to provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite fan entry into the arena, the University of Houston Athletics Department will implement a clear bag policy for the upcoming basketball season, and all events inside of the Fertitta Center.

The UH Clear Bag Policy strictly limits the size and types of bags that are permitted into the Fertitta Center. Items such as backpacks, purses and diaper bags are not permitted. Fans are strongly encouraged not to bring any bags.

However the following will be permitted:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12".
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • A small clutch purse no larger than 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap. These small clutches are subject to search.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the gate by arena personnel.

CLOSED CAPTIONING

To provide the best fan experience to every Houston fan, closed captioning is provided at both ends of the Fertitta Center behind the goals.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests. Our staff will proactively support an environment free from the following behaviors:

  • Abusive, foul or disruptive language and obscene gestures
  • Intoxication or other signs of impairment related to alcohol consumption
  • Behavior that is reckless, dangerous, materially disruptive or illegal in nature
  • Fighting, taunting or threatening remarks or gestures
  • Sitting in a location other than the guests ticketed seat
  • Any material disruption to the progress of the event by guest's actions, (including entering the court or throwing objects onto the court)
  • Failing to follow instructions of arena personnel or law enforcement officers
  • Verbal or physical harassment of the opposing team's players or fans, officials, or arena personnel
Continuing inappropriate behavior may result in the guest being ejected, arrested by police, or having his/her tickets revoked. All season-ticket holders are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guests and/or persons using their tickets. Fans who see someone violating the code of conduct should notify arena security or tweet @UHCougarGameday.

CONCESSIONS

Chartwells is the official concessionaire for the Fertitta Center. Concession stands as well as portable carts are located throughout the concourse level.

CREDIT CARDS

All major credit cards are accepted at the Holman Ticket Office, concessions, merchandise stands and cash parking lots.

ELEVATOR

The Fertitta Center is equipped with an elevator that will provide access from the concourse level to the club level of the arena. It is located between sections 103 and 104 near the Holman Street entrance.

EMERGENCIES

Should you need immediate assistance, please notify the nearest event staff member, security personnel or police officer. Guest are encouraged to report issues and concerns to any nearby event staff member or by sending tweets @UHCougarGameday.

In the event of a serious emergency at the Fertitta Center, all event staff, event security, police and Houston Public Safety emergency response agencies are ready and available to assist all guests. Pertinent information regarding the emergency situation will be provided over the public address system including arena televisions and scoreboards.

TEAM SHOP

The UH Team Shop operated by Follett is the official outfitter of Houston Athletics. The merchandise stand is located on the concourse level behind Section 104 on the Holman Street side of the arena. Visit UHTeamShop.com for all your Houston fan apparel.

FIRST AID

A First Aid station is located on the concourse of the Fertitta Center behind section 107. Guests needing medical assistance are encouraged to contact a nearby event staff or security staff member, who can assist in contacting the First Aid staff.

GAME DAY TWITTER ACCOUNT - @UHCougarGameday

Follow the University of Houston Department of Athletics Game Day twitter account, @UHCougarGameday, for information on things such as, traffic, parking, weather alerts and much more. You can also utilize this account to ask questions, report incidents and receive assistance during the game.

GATE OPENING TIMES

The Fertitta Center will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the games.

GROUP TICKETS

Houston Athletics offers special discounts for groups of 10 or more at Houston Basketball games. If you are part of an organization, we invite you to join us for a fun group outing at one of our home games.

GUEST SERVICES

The University of Houston Department of Athletics strives to ensure a positive game day experience for all fans. You will find Guest Service representatives located outside of each entry gate of the Fertitta Center to answer any questions, provide directions and assist with any needs. While inside the Arena, Guest Services representatives will be located just inside of each gate.

LOST AND FOUND

All Guests needing to claim or report lost items during an event should visit the ticket booth at either Cullen or Holman Entrances. Items found but not claimed are taken to the University of Houston Police Department. The University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged items.

LOST CHILDREN AND GUESTS

Lost children and guests should be taken to any police officer or event staff personnel throughout the arena.

MEDIA SEATING

Press seating is located at the top of Section 119. See the Athletic Communications Office for information regarding obtaining credentials. Following games, a postgame press conference will be held in the Jim Nantz Media Center, located off of the back of house hallway next to the Legends Club.

MEDIA SERVICES

Credentials and parking for accredited media agencies can be obtained by applying with the Houston Athletics Communications Office. Requests for season credentials must be made two weeks prior to the start of the season, and single-game requests must be submitted two business days before the requested game. Working press seating is located at the top of Section 119, while media parking is located in the Stadium Garage.

MEDIA WILL CALL

Media Will Call is located at the ticket office on the Holman Street side of The Fertitta Center and will open 90 minutes prior to tip time for men's games and 60 minutes for women's games. Media members must have a photo ID to receive their credentials. Press seating is located at the top of section 119 of the arena.

If you have questions before the event, please call the Athletic Communications Office at 713-743-9404. On game day, please speak with the appropriate Athletics Communications contact.

METAL DETECTORS

In a continuing effort to improve the fan experience and provide a safer environment for all guests, walk-through magnetometers, a more effective and less intrusive form of screening, have been installed at all entry points of the Fertitta Center. Guests will not need to remove their shoes, belts, watches or jewelry.

Guests will be asked to remove cell phone, keys and large metal objects from their pockets prior to walking through the metal detectors. To help expedite the process, guests are advised to only bring items they will absolutely need for the event. Working personnel, including media, will be subject to screening and bag inspections.

METRO RAIL PURPLE LINE

The Metro Rail Purple Line includes a stop just outside of TDECU Stadium. Houston fans can enjoy the ease of travel on the 6.6-mile Purple Line, which begins downtown and travels southeast along Capitol and Rusk to the Palm Center near MLK and Griggs.

NOISE MAKING DEVICES

Artificial noisemakers are strictly prohibited inside the arena.
 

PARKING

Parking Information & Map

Due to the fact that we use faculty/staff and student parking lots on game day, and many games are weekday games, parking lots will be available two (2) hours prior to tipoff. In the event a parking space in your lot is unavailable, UH parking representatives will relocate you to the best alternative parking option until the situation is resolved.

Cash parking for men’s games is available in the 16B (east end of the lot) off Entrance 16, 16D surface lot off Elgin Boulevard, for $20.  Pre-paid parking is available by visiting UHCougars.com/tickets

Handicap parking for men’s games is available on the first level (visitor entrance) of the Stadium parking garage.  Entry into the garage requires a valid ADA compliant handicap license plate or hangtag. The charge to park on this level is $20 unless you have a Men’s Basketball parking pass from Cougar Pride in any donor lot.

Entry is free with both the parking pass and valid ADA hangtag. Enter off Holman Street You can access Holman Street from Scott Street or Cullen Boulevard.

Patrons with a Men’s Basketball parking pass from Cougar Pride in the Red Lot (15C), Stadium Garage - Orange, or Green Lot (west side of 16B/16C) will use a mobile parking pass.  Download your parking pass into your mobile wallet prior to your arrival on campus.

For women’s games the 15C lot, stadium garage (Student entrance) for $10 cash parking. 

Reminder fans, when the parking meters located on Holman Street have been bagged by the City of Houston, parking on Holman Street is NOT permitted.

PLAYER-GUEST (HOUSTON)

Guests of University of Houston student-athletes may pick up tickets at the ticket office at the Holman Street entrance of the Fertitta Center 60 minutes before tipoff. Per NCAA rules, each person receiving a ticket must be present with a photo ID in order to sign for tickets.

Guests of players are required to enter the arena when they receive their ticket and must follow arena policies regarding no re-entry.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

In conjunction with the NCAA and for the safety of our guests and employees, the following are prohibited:

  • Alcohol
  • Animals
    Except service animals (dogs) trained to work or perform task for guest with disabilities.
    Therapy, comfort, companion or emotional support animals are not permitted.
  • Artificial noisemakers
  • Backpacks or bags of any kind
  • Cameras with lenses larger than 8 inches
  • Coolers/Bottles/Cans and Thermoses
  • Fireworks, open flames or flammables
  • Firearms and weapons of any kind
  • Illegal Drugs
  • Laser Pointers
  • Metal or glass containers of any kind
  • Outside food and beverage
  • Personal transport devices (skateboards/hover boards/segways)
  • Video cameras and the use of video capable devices

Any attempt to bring prohibited items into the Fertitta Center will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct and may result in the guest being ejected, arrested or tickets being revoked. All persons and/or their belongings are subject to search. Violators of the rules of any State or City laws will be refused admission, asked to leave or ejected from Arena property.

PROHIBITED BEHAVIOR

  • Smoking, including e-cigarettes (the University of Houston is a Tobacco Free Campus)
  • Ticket scalping
  • Abusive, foul or disruptive language
  • Throwing objects
  • Trespassing, soliciting, peddling and loitering
  • Access to the court level and or playing surface without the proper authorization or credentials
  • Any other item or action deemed dangerous or inappropriate
  • Guest who appear to be inebriated and unmanageable will not be permitted admittance into the arena.
     

RADIO BROADCASTS

Houston Cougar Men's Basketball games are broadcast in the Houston area on 950 AM KPRC as part of the Houston IMG Sports Network. Fans can also listen to the broadcast for free on the Tune-In App.

RE-ENTRY

There is a NO re-entry policy in effect for the Fertitta Center. Once a guest exits the arena, they will not be allowed back in for the remainder of the event.

RECRUIT/HIGH SCHOOL COACH TICKETS

University of Houston Basketball recruits can receive more information about tickets by calling the Men's Basketball office at 713.743.9430 or the Women's Basketball Office at 713.743.8938.

Texas High School Coaches can receive one (1) complimentary ticket for themselves and one (1) additional for a guest based upon availability. THSCA members can call the respective Basketball office in advance to request their name to be added to the list for a particular game(s).

Should there still be availability on the list for that game(s), Texas High School coaches will be instructed to go to the ticket office at the Holman Street entrance of the Fertitta Center starting 60 minutes prior to tipoff and show their THSCA card to receive the complimentary ticket on game day. Any coach without the THSCA card on game day will not be admitted. Reservations for THSCA tickets must be made prior to game day.

REFUND POLICY

No refunds, exchanges or cancellations are permitted. Refunds will not be granted due to a game date or time changes. Check UHCougars.com for up to date game information.

The University of Houston Athletics Ticket Office is not responsible for any tickets that are lost.  In case of lost or stolen tickets, please contact the Houston Athletics Ticket Office at 713-Go-Coogs as soon as you recognize that the tickets are missing.  On game day, please go to the Fertitta Center Ticket Office at either the Holman or Cullen Street entrances. 

Patrons will be required to show their photo id, confirmation number (if available) and credit card, if applicable, that was used to purchase the ticket(s). Stolen tickets should always be reported to the local law enforcement agency first. 

RESTROOMS

Public restrooms are conveniently located throughout the arenas. All gender restrooms are located behind sections 101 and 109. All restrooms are ADA accessible, and are equipped with baby changing stations.

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING

In an effort to ensure the safety of our fans on game day, we are asking all spectators to notify UH Police Department, event staff personnel or Athletics Department Staff immediately if you see anything out of the ordinary while on campus or in the Fertitta Center. Call UHPD at 713-743-3333.

SMOKING

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted inside the Fertitta Center. The University of Houston is a tobacco-free campus.

SOLICITATIONS, GIVEAWAYS AND SPONSORSHIPS

No items may be distributed in or around the Fertitta Center without prior consent from the University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and IMG College. To obtain consent, or for information on stadium and radio broadcast sponsorships, please contact IMG College at 225-337-4242.

Solicitation and literature distribution is only allowed with prior approval through Houston IMG Sports Network, 225-337-4242.

STROLLERS

Strollers are permitted inside the Fertitta Center. However, their use cannot inhibit guest movement or block any aisles. Smaller, umbrella-style strollers can be stored underneath a seat as long as it does not create an obstruction for other guests. Parking strollers in ADA accessible areas is prohibited.

STUDENT SEATING

All UH full-time Central Campus students are admitted FREE to regular-season Men's and Women's Basketball home games. All students MUST have a ticket to enter the Fertitta Center. On game day, if tickets are still available students may pick up one physical ticket starting 60 minutes prior to tipoff at the Cullen Entrance (Holman Entrance for women’s games) ticket booth. Students must present a valid Cougar Card ID along with their ticket to enter The Fertitta Center.

Where to Sit: 

The first 300 students to enter the arena will receive a wristband granting them access to The Cage courtside seating in Sections S11-S15.  The remaining students will sit in Section 109 and a portion of 108.

Student Discounted Tickets: 

Each currently enrolled student at the Central Campus may purchase two (2) discount tickets at a discounted price for all regular season home basketball games. Student discount tickets must be purchased IN PERSON with your valid Cougar Card at the Houston Athletics Ticket Office.

UH Satellite Campus Students: 

Satellite campus students can purchase a student ticket for themselves and two (2) guest tickets at the student discounted rate on the day of the game only. For basketball, UH satellite campus students can purchase tickets at the Cullen Boulevard ticket windows at The Fertitta Center, if tickets are still available on the day of game, and must show a valid student ID to receive a ticket.

TICKETS

The Houston Athletics Ticket Office is located at TDECU Stadium in the northeast corner by Schroeder Gate 1 and Legends Plaza. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ticket Usage Policy

All children ages 3 and older must have a ticket. No outside food or drinks are allowed in events hosted by or venues operated by the University of Houston Department of Athletics.  The University of Houston is not responsible for lost, stolen, or destroyed tickets.  Tickets obtained from unofficial or unauthorized sources, including but not limited to: ticket brokers, fraudulent, lost, stolen or duplicated tickets may be seized and/or canceled without refund.

The ticket holder, by attending the event, voluntarily assumes all risks and dangers incidental to the event he or she is attending, whether occurring prior to or subsequent to the actual event. This ticket is a revocable limited license to attend a specific athletic event.  The University of Houston may in its sole discretion revoke this license and eject or refuse entry to the ticket holder for violation of terms and conditions noted herein, venue rules, illegal activity or misconduct.  The ticket holder consents to all searches of person or property as a condition of entry and to confiscation of any and all prohibited items.  Dates and times of events are subject to change without notice or any right of refund.

The ticket holder, by attending the event, grants the University of Houston, for the benefit of its Athletic Department, a non-exclusive, transferrable, perpetual and permanent right and license to use (and to sub-license the use of) his or her name and likeness if it is included in any broadcast, photograph, recording or display in any form of media of or relating to the event he or she is attending. 

There are no refunds or exchanges for tickets.  No re-entry into events hosted by, or venues operated by, the University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics allowed.

TICKET SALES WINDOWS

The Fertitta Center ticket sales windows will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off for men's basketball and 60 minutes for women's basketball on game days. Advance ticket sales are made through the Houston Athletics Ticket Office by calling 713.Go.Googs (462-6647), online at UHCougars.com, or visiting the Houston Athletics Ticket Office, located on the northeast corner of TDECU Stadium, just outside Schroeder Gate 1 by Legends Plaza. Parking is available in the TDECU Stadium Garage visitor entrance with the first 30 minutes free of charge.

Student Ticket - Men's Basketball

There are 1,000 tickets available to current enrolled students & may be claimed for each regular season home game on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Student ticket is good for general admission seating in the student sections at the Fertitta Center (Sections S11-S15 and 109). First 300 get to sit on the floor in sections S11-S15.
  • Students are required to enter Fertitta Center at the student entrance on Cullen Blvd.
  • Students can claim a ticket, starting the Monday of the week of the game until 2 hours prior to doors opening at Fertitta Center (subject to availability). Students will be able to claim a ticket by logging into their account at com/students
  • Tickets will be sent to students as mobile ticket to their phone no later than 24 hours prior to tipoff. Email address listed on student’s online ticket account must be active on their phone to be able to receive mobile tickets.
  • If tickets are still available, students can claim one on game day by showing their student ID at the Holman entrance ticket office for admittance.

Valid Cougar Card in addition to game ticket is required for admittance to games

TOBACCO-FREE CAMPUS

In conjunction with the University of Houston's tobacco-free campus initiative, smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is not allowed on University grounds, including the Fertitta Center. For more information please see the UH Tobacco-Free Campus Policy.

VISITING TEAM-PLAYER GUEST and WILL CALL

The visiting team player guest and will call is located at the ticket office on the Holman Street side of the Fertitta Center. Guests will be admitted when the gates open 60 minutes prior to tipoff. The visiting team may distribute tickets prior to this time, but that is the decision of each visiting institution.

If you are receiving tickets through the visiting team and have questions, you should contact that institution prior to game day. A photo ID will be required to receive the tickets.

WILL CALL

General Will Call is for customers who have purchased in advance and requested their tickets to be left at Will Call. Customers may pick up Will Call tickets any time in advance at the Houston Athletics Ticket Office during normal business hours.  On game day fans will be able to pick up tickets left at general Will Call at both ticket booths inside of the Fertitta Center.  Ticket windows will open 60 minutes prior to tipoff. A photo ID will be required to receive the tickets.
