Facilities/Construction Management is excited to welcome a new Assistant Director of Plant Operations Technology. Hailey began his new role in April 2021.
Hailey will be protecting and securing information systems by researching, installing, configuring, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems and services. He will be maintaining, and coordinating planning, construction, maintenance of software, hardware and system administrator roles.
Furthermore, his knowledge of coordinating with UHIT will support the cybersecurity responsibilities of the F/CM computing resources to include the updating of operating systems, implementation of ICS/SCADA security protocols for new building automation systems, and identification and protection of existing data systems. Hailey reports directly to Facilities Infrastructure & Technology Director Chad Thome within Facilities Business Operation and Compliance.
Some of Hailey’s prior experience includes SCADA Analyst and IT Project Manager with the City of Austin, as well as System Support Technician at Butler University. Some of the experience in his previous roles were providing support to the critical SCADA/Energy Management System (EMS) and Advanced Distribution Automation System (ADMS) used by the System Control Center (SCC) Operators to ensure mission-critical enterprise systems were reliable, accurate, and available. His role also included participating in NERC/CIP regulatory compliance procedures. Hailey frequently participated in campus-wide software implementation initiatives to upgrade/patch systems and utilized Active Directory and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to administer systems.
Hailey brings over 19 years of technology experience to F/CM, aspirations that were rooted in him since he was nine years old when he first took apart and repaired a computer. He also played football for Butler University and is excited to be a part of the Cougar family.
F/CM is excited to fill this vital position in order to tackle the challenges presented by unprecedented and challenging times in order to Build Futures and Maintain Excellence.
