Mission

The Judy Cook Building supports programs, partnerships, and shared initiatives that expand access to University of Houston resources and strengthen relationships with surrounding communities. Through providing spaces for collaboration, learning, and civic engagement, the building advances community empowerment and supports the University’s public mission.

Vision

Our vision is to serve as a bridge between the University and the community: a place for reciprocal collaboration. This building serves as a welcoming, accessible space where the campus and community meet, connect, and collaborate.

History

The Judy Cook Building project was initiated following a federal investment to establish an Innovation Center at the University of Houston. This foundation was further strengthened in 2017 by Judy and Mark Cook, whose generous gift ensured the building would serve as a lasting space for community partnership. The construction of the Judy Cook Building was finished in 2022. In 2025, stewardship of the building transitioned to the Office of Government and Community Relations.
