Message from Program Director

Dear Spring 2020 Master of Public Administration Graduates,

Congratulations on successfully completing the MPA Program curriculum. You are now in possession of an MPA Degree which will help you throughout your public service career. It has been a pleasure teaching you and watching you enhance your knowledge and skills. From a few of your professors, below are a few words or phrases to keep in mind as you follow your career path.

• It depends, because public administration is contextual. (Thurmond)
• Good management and leadership skills apply across all disciplines.(Glaus Late)
• Decision-making should be "evidence based" as opposed to opinions. (Carlucci)
• For collaboration, it is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit. (Rubinstein)
• By failing to prepare [for emergencies], you are preparing to fail. (Braun)
