To be effective, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences need to create a unifying brand that reflects our diverse community and areas of study. To kickstart this process, we have drafted a new mission and vision statement.

MISSION
The mission of CLASS is to advance research, education, and public service in the humanities and social sciences that deepen our understanding of human experiences. We inspire people to think and act creatively, critically, and collaboratively to foster just and inclusive communities, in Houston and beyond.
VISION
To enrich lives by leading the University of Houston to become a Top 50 public university, educating tomorrow’s multicultural leaders, producing innovative and meaningful research, working responsibly with local, regional and global partners to serve diverse communities, and securing national and international awards.
