Robert Wuhl Actor, comedian and director Robert Wuhl returns to his alma mater this month to present a workshop production of his first play "Hit-Lit," Jan. 29-Feb. 2 in the Jose Quintero Theatre. The Houston Chronicle published an article about the production, which Wuhl is co-directing with Steve Wallace, director of the School of Theatre & Dance. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Jan. 29–Feb. 2. Tickets are $20; call 713-743-2929.
Michael Dimock Michael Dimock, who earned his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Political Science and his PhD in political science from the University of California- San Diego, has been appointed director of research at Pew Research Center for the People and the Press.
Carminia Martinez Fulbright Fellow Carminia Martinez moved to the Yucatan Peninsula to research Mayan culture after completing her master’s degree in anthropology in the Department of Comparative Cultural Studies. Her expertise was in demand by journalists across the globe, including Fox 26 Houston, as the Mayan calendar end date of Dec. 21, 2012 approached.
Daniel O'Connor Obesity researcher Daniel O'Connor earned his PhD in kinesiology from the Department of Health and Human Performance and is an associate professor in that department. His research with colleague Professor Rebecca Lee, founding director of the Texas Obesity Research Center, was recently spotlighted in the Houston Chronicle article New weapons in war on obesity.
Elizabeth Warren Class alumna Elizabeth Warren was elected in Massachusetts to the United States Senate on November 6, 2012. The former Harvard law professor earned a bachelor’s degree in 1970 at UH in Communication Science and Disorders.

CLASS alumna Amber Dermont's debut novel,The Starboard Sea, is included in the New York Times' 100 Notable Books of 2012 list. Dermont earned a PhD in literature and creative writing at UH and will speak in Houston in March 2013 as part of the Inprint Brown Reading Series.

The Art League of Houston is exhibiting in December the work of two School of Art alums – Jamal Cyrus (BFA, 2004) in a weeklong residency as part of the “Stacks” project and Adela Andea’s (BFA, 2009) outdoor installation “Primordial Garden.”
