Opportunities Available in CLASS

As part of our commitment to fostering a rich educational and research environment at the University of Houston, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences provides multiple funding and development opportunities for our faculty, staff and students. These annual initiatives are managed and awarded by the CLASS Office of the Dean on a recurring basis.

Faculty Opportunities

From grants to internships, CLASS offers multiple initiatives and development opportunities aimed at supporting curricular development, recognizing distinguished faculty and supplementing non-tenure track faculty professional development.

Staff Opportunities

This award is for CLASS staff to attend conferences or workshops in his or her field for professional development purposes. The intent is to defray costs associated with conference travel, lodging and meals. Staff must submit "proof of participation" to the department chair and to the dean. The maximum amount of the award is $2,000 per staff member. Award recipients may apply again after three years. Please view each program’s page for the specific guidelines and deadlines.
