What events are taking place on campus?

To find events happening on campus, visit the UH Calendar at www.uh.edu/calendar. Also, many student organizations conduct fun activities. Here are some examples:

  • Student Program Board uh.edu/spb: movies, concerts, games, and other fun events
  • Metropolitan Volunteer Program uh.edu/mvp: volunteer and community service opportunities
  • Council for Cultural Activities uh.edu/cca: cultural activities and events

 

I want to work out and play sports. Where can I go?

LCC students have access to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center and its facilities including:

  • soccer, basketball, volleyball, and badminton facilities
  • natatorium (indoor pool) and outdoor leisure pool
  • climbing wall
  • group fitness classes
  • personal training sessions
  • outdoor adventure trips

 

I want to watch sports and games at UH. What should I do?

The University of Houston has a variety of sporting events, such as football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. As an LCC student, you may enter many UH sport events for free or with a student discount. Visit the Houston Cougars website, browse events, and purchase a ticket.  

 

What art galleries and performances are available on campus?

  • The Blaffer Art Museum is free and open to students.
  • The Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts offers a variety of programs and events. See event calendar and purchase tickets on the Box Office

 

What is a good place to eat or entertain?

There are many places on campus to study and hang out. Three popular locations are:

  • Student Center South
    • Dining: McDonald’s, Panda Express, Chick-fil-A Express, Starbucks, Shasta's Cones & More, and Freshii
    • Shopping: Student Center Market and UH Campus Store
    • Entertainment: Student Center Games Room with billiards, bowling, and ping pong
    • Studying: Study rooms be reserved at the information desk.
    • Banking: TDECU
  • Student Center North: a quieter building with tables for eating and studying
  • Student Center Satellite
    • Dining: McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A Express, Starbucks, Smoothie King, Pizza Hut Express, AFC Sushi, Taco Bell, and Tandoori Nite
    • Shopping: Market at Student Center Satellite
    • Entertainment: a small games room with billiards
