To Bear Fruit for Our Race captures an inspirational chapter of American history and reveals the enduring value of education and social commitment. To facilitate classroom use of this exhibit, the UH Center for Public History recruited current or recent teachers from the Houston Independent School District, including Irma Bocard, Sarah Derry, Deborah Dirden, and David Stroupe. They crafted lesson plans in social studies and science for middle school and high school consistent with the state curricular objectives.

Dr. John Stone, past president of the Houston Medical Forum, speaks about the importance of goals and education.
