First launched in Fall 2021, and re-launching in Spring 2027, the Center for Public
History’s Humanities Lab is a project-based fieldwork program that provides opportunities
for community organizations, local government, museums, non-profits, faith-based organizations,
and small businesses to utilize the skills of graduate students across the humanities
and social sciences at the University of Houston. Humanities Lab interns complete
projects in collaboration with community partners ranging from grant-writing, copy-editing,
and media development to digitization, archival research, oral history interviews
and more.
