Introduction

The Oral History of Houston is a comprehensive effort to identify important and interesting Houstonians -- people with insights into the history of the Houston region -- interview them, transcribe their interviews, and place the tapes and transcripts in archives for future researchers. In the process, we also expect to collect photographs, written materials, and artifacts for our archives on Houston's history, as well as produce a new generation of historians trained in oral history, experienced in interviewing, and interested in the history of our region.
